My 14 year old son was just diagnosed with Chiari Malformation less than a month ago. He is a state champion wrestler and he started having horrible headaches which we thought came from a hit to the head during a wrestling match but after seeing a Neurologist and having an MRI we found out about the Chiari! We had never heard of the condition before so this was a total shock. His neurologist feels that he will have to have the decompression surgery so we are meeting with the Neuro Surgeon this Tuesday for the first time. I have done a lot of research and I am totally overwhelmed at this point! I am wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what kind of questions I need to ask at this appointment to make sure I understand what's going on! If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it! Thanks is advance!
