My name is Brandi. I previously posted a discussion titled fear of the unknown. I finally got the diagnosis of Chiari last Monday. I would not have been diagnosised if I had not reviewed my own MRI results and requested a referral to Neurosurgery. I’m very thankful to have the answer to my symptoms that have been going on for 8+ years. I am scheduled for a CSF flow MRI on May 8th and then back to Neurosurgeery on May 15th for a plan. Obviously I would prefer to have no symptoms and no Chiari, but I am thankful that I have answers and a solution now. I am also very thankful for all the support from you all. Can I ask how long the recovery process is after surgery. How long I will be home from work?
I'm glad you finally received some answers! To answer your question about returning to work, I was scheduled to go back after 6 weeks but I ended up taking 8. Everyone seems to heal at a different rate!
