Feeling overwhelmed about my daughters surgery!

1 week from today my daughter has surgery. I’m really worried, anxious, scared and well, I flat out fear that I’m making the wrong decision. I’m SUPER confident in her surgeon simply because he’s one of the best. He is wonderful and his bedside manner is out of this world. Her neurologist I’m not do impressed with. It is her NL that has put this doubt in my mind. When she was 1st diagnosed, her NL told me “you don’t want to get surgery, you should see some of the kids that come to me that have has surgery”. Wth? Exactly what did she mean? What if she’s right and my daughters quality of life would be be worse after surgery? A million questions ate running through my head. What should I pack for the hospital? Omg help!

I can’t imagine having to think about my child having it done but I know even though I am 37 my mom said those exact same things. She is very glad now that I had surgery 2.5 weeks ago. I am headache free and nausea free. I haven’t had the tingling in my hands. ALL GONE!!!

I hope the same for your daughter and I will keep you guys in my prayers. Good luck!!!

I cannot even begin to imagine how I would feel if one of my children were going through what I am at 40 years old. All I can say is to listen to your daughter and how she is feeling, be of great comfort to her; continue to love & support her. As far as the hospital, I cannot advise on that, I am still waiting to have my surgery. I will keep your daughter & family in my thoughts & prayers. Please keep me posted.

I was in the ICU overnight and I went home after 4 days. Let me know if you. Have any other questions.
