Disability doctor

I had an appointment with the disability doctor today and I guess it went well. He wished me luck and told me it would take about a month to hear from Austin. He always informed me that I’m slowly going blind(yay me) my neurologist put me on prednisone for 10 days and I just finished that but I don’t see her again until March. Now I have to decided to go back to my neurosurgeon or try to find a new one. The headaches are still horrible and everyday. Does anyone have any advice?

Amy, please get another opinion… Why are you going blind?

Mandy,

My headaches are at the base of my skull and they do get worse when I laugh, cough, sneeze, and they are tremendously worse when standing. My neck always feels stiff and achy. I don’t have drainage from my nose or ears. I haven’t had a sleep study and my neurologist just put me on 10 days of steroids and said I will see you in 6 months. I feel like I’m going crazy and not getting any support from any of my doctors and it is hard to find a new doctor that accepts Medicaid

I finally found a neurosurgeon that accepts Medicaid and now I am waiting for my neurologist to send the referral. I also found out that there isn’t a pain management specialist in Fort Worth that accepts Medicaid, so I have to go to Dallas an hour away which isn’t bad. The headaches are getting worse so I’m hoping to get in to see the pain management dr soon to get some help with the pain.

I am sorry that your vision is going. Have you seen an ophthalmologist? He/she may give you a better idea on your vision especially since your headaches are so bad. I would be cautious on the Prednisone if you have vision problems or any other steroid for that matter that would be a question to ask the prescribing doctor and neurologist. hopefully the disability works out.
