Different MRI results

As I am sure everyone on here can agree that finding a doctor that understands chiari is a task and a half, and I thought I had found that doctor. The reason I say "thought" is because in May I had my second MRI at a different hospital than the first), when he was reviewing the results he claimed "the radiology tech said it has gotten better. Now I looked at him very perplexed because everything I have read said it WILL NOT get better unless there is surgery, when I told him this and questioned him on it his response was "Maybe it's all in your head". Now I'm sure you can understand this made me extremely upset (like dealing with constant pain and migraines isn't enough) and now I have sort of shut down with him as I am confused as to why a medical professional who took an oath would continually prescribe different medications and procedures. Just looking for some help, guidance, and some support.

Thank you,

Jennifer

Hi Jehnay,

I totally understand !!! It is very hard to find an experienced CM Medical Provider. Many people including myself has been told "It's in our heads." Please know you are right to seek another opinion. Please don't be upset. You are your only Medical Advocate. Don't be afraid to ask any doctors any questions about anything. Please know everyone here understands. You are not alone !!!!

You don't have to shut down with him, just put him on hold, if you like him :) When you find the right specialist you can get those two doctors into contact with each other. My Primary first gave me allergy meds but after speaking with my NS and Psych-doc, now he's on board for brain surgery! amazing. They just want what's best for you, but they can't do that unless they are completely confident they can help you. I really don't know why they think we all understand that, but most of us don't. It would be very helpful if they could just say, " I'm not sure what to think or do, but go here and see this person, this is your next step."

ya know!? :)

What kind of procedures are we talking about? I can understand the medications but that's about it.

I understand also. My first MRI, the radiologist said that I had a 10mm herniation then they did an MRI on my spine and then said that I had "mild chiari malformation". Went to Neurologist and she said " maybe you have a vitamin B def. and maybe neuropathy in your hands and feet and maybe your blood pressure is low making you feel dizzy and maybe you just have migraines all of the sudden! Ok, so I went from being a healthy 42 year old to having all of those ailments and chiari has nothing to do with it! What a coincidence!!! Wish someone would listen.
