Hi all, after being diagnosed 4 years ago with a CM and syrinx and experiencing significant symptom increases in those 4 years, and 2 neurologists and 4 neurosurgeons later, I’m going to have surgery! It was an extremely difficult decision to make but I’m looking forward to getting my life and energy back. My surgery will be on December 13th with Dr. Ellenbogen in Seattle, about 3 hours from my home.
I’ve been really encouraged by some of the surgery updates I’ve been reading here lately, and I want to thank everyone for posting and I wish you the best in your continued recoveries. I will post more as my surgery date gets closer. Thank you!
I am so happy for you. I know you have gone through so much. Usually I caution people not to jump into having surgery, but I know you have had a long journey. I am glad you are viewing this as getting your life back !!!! Please keep us updated. We really do care about you....
Surgery is scary, but well worth it. I had surgery and I feel like I have my life back. The first 2 weeks are the toughest, but afterwards; it’s all worth it.
From what I’ve read you’ve had a tough journey and I think surgery is the logical step for you, but it is a tough decision! So far my recovery has gone well and pain has been minimal! I hope you have a wonderful experience and recovery! Keep us posted!
