Jane McGonigal is a gamer. She also had a traumatic brain injury. During her months and years of recovery, she turned her struggle into a game. Her story is here:

She put her game online for people like me - people who can't leave the house of their own volition, people who rarely leave bed - but it can help anyone. You spend time doing small things to build strength in four categories: Physical, Mental, Social and Emotional. Simple things like counting down from one hundred or making fists and raising your arms above your head for five seconds. These are small things that can make a big difference for some of us. You create a secret identity, activate power ups, fight bad guys, and recruit allies in your battle against your illness.
The game is SuperBetter. Please check it out. It's incredible.
