Has anyone that is in more pain after having decompression surgery tried the Botox Injections? I have had 2 doctors recommend this. My concern is that i do not have headaches or migraines. Like most of you i have severe chronic head pain (among many other symptoms) and i am bedridden. The only thing that helps a little is oxycodone.
Thank you Abby I will make that change! As far as the doctors my neurosurgeon warned me that there is a 30 percent chance that the pain would be worse. That goes for everyone who has to have surgery for Chiari. Since the surgery i have had numerous scans, another spinal tap and even saw an eye specialist. I know so many people who are disabled after having the surgery. It's not an option....in my case i had to have the surgery. I had no fluid getting to my brain.
Hi Angel, I had my decompression surgery about 2 years ago. Besides my entire left side of my body being jacked up, there are a few areas that i have had real trouble with sense surgery. Horrible headaches, Constant neck pain and as time had gone on my left shoulder blade started throbbing constantly.. I had 2 rounds of Botox, in my experience it worked for my headaches & really helped with my shoulder blade. Unfortionitly it did Nothing for my neck. The 1st round i was told it may not work or work the greatest, but after that i should see improvement.. The doctor was right, the 1st helped but not that much the 2nd WOW. I would absolutely go back for more had my insurance not ran out, & my new insurance doesn't cover it. The only down fall is that it only lasts 3 months at a time..
If you do happen to try Botox i hope that u see the same or better results, Good Luck!!!! I hope things get better for u very soon
