My tongue has bothered me since I first got out! I knew my mouth would be sore from the breathing tube as this isn’t my first surgery. But I can still barely open my mouth and the one side and tip of my tongue are still completely numb and can’t taste anything! The first day I had a huge knot on my tongue so that has went away but this numb thing is driving me nuts!
yes and tingly lips....which I still occasionally have to this day. Did you have a swallowing test before you were released?
Nope no swallowing thing before or after. Just know I have no gag reflex and since I woke
Up I have had a hard time even taking pills because of my damn tongue. Lips are fine but my tongue has never been this way after surgery. And again only the tip of it and the right side!
My bottom lip was completely numb for several weeks, it was from the breathing tube pressing on it for 3 hours. my numbness had completely gone away.
I felt some level of numbness in my tongue for about 3 weeks. NS said it was nothing to worry about
