8 mo. Post-op CINE MRI

I just got back to the hotel from my MRI and a follow up with my NS. I’m excited to say my csf flow that was previously diminished is now flowing completely unrestricted! Everything looks great and I don’t need to be seen again unless I have any issues that concern me!

I’ve posted before about a weird pain and tenderness I have on the right side of my incision at the base of my neck. The NS says that my muscle is very tight and in spasm right there. He speculates it could be due to a slight instability in my neck. For the time being he recommends muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories. I’m just relieved the MRI looked great and this is just a minor annoyance compared to how I felt before. I definitely have no regrets so far!

Great news!

Any thoughts on trying Physical Therapy for your neck? It sure helped me a lot.

WOO HOO !!! Congratulations Anglyn !! You are definitely a Success Story and a Great person !!!

Wow. That is an encouraging story. I had surgery with lingering pain weird sensation. I would like to tell you acupuncture done by an experienced LAc can be the BEST treatment right there. With pills your guaranteed to need them day after day. Try acupuncture for a week. Please. And I promise you will write me back, with another success story.

So great to hear! I hope you continue on your recovery full speed ahead!

What wonderful news!!!

That is such great news!!! So glad to hear it!!!!

Congrats!!!!!

Thanks for the advice on acupuncture. Sadly I'm in a rural area and the closest place I get acupuncture is over an hour away. I exhausted my leave taking time off for surgery so I don't think it's a possibility for me right now. Plus as of this plan year my insurance will no longer pay for it at all! I also exhausted my money having this surgery out of network. lol. Luckily the pain is not terrible, it's more of an annoyance. I've been just dealing with it (because I have gastritis and can't handle anti-inflammatories very well) and somehow just knowing what is causing it makes me feel better in itself. Luckily I have a good pain tolerance so I don't need to take pills unless things get pretty severe. Hopefully at some point options for alternative medicine will move into my area and then I'll give it a go!

What a wonderful story !! I am so happy for you !

I too have pain on the right side of my neck and Surgery area.. I am 10 month's out of surgery but still have pain and headaches.. But I agree I am not anywhere close to where I was before but get frustrated I can't do things like I did before getting sick...

I've found a Holistic Dr / Chiropractor who has been a Godsend...I am finally getting some relief with headaches etc.

Again I'm so happy to hear about your nes it gives the rest of us hope !!
