It's been a long time since I have been on. I have been feeling pretty good for the past 6 months. Lately, I have been having numbness & tingling in the arm and on my face. I have also had dizziness and vertigo. Luckily, the headaches have not been a problem. I recently started a new job, and my son is getting married in August, so there is a lot of stress on me right now. I went back to the doctor to discuss the problems that I have been having (plus the fact that I was just getting over pneumonia) and he looked at my chart and told me that because I was less than 5mm I did not qualify as Chiari and that it must be an emotional situation causing me t have these problems. I am very upset about this. I don't want to leave my new job, but it is working with blood/blood components and I can't be having numbness, tremors etc while I am doing it and I always feel so guilty about not being able to work because it causes these problems. I don't expect any answers from anybody, I just wanted to vent. Thank you.
Stevesgrl, so sorry. It makes NO sence that a person has a list of symptoms with 6mm herniation and it’s Chiari. Then another person has the same list of symptoms with a 5mm herniation and is told you don’t have anything…WHAT? Doc, does that really sound right to you? Are you Really gonna charge for this appointment?
find a true Chiari specialized NS. You should be evaluated for the Chiari, dysautonomia, EDS/cranio cervical instability. Sorry you had such a disappointing appointment.
