Should I ask for surgery

I have a left sided chiari of 6 mm and 3 mm on right. I have almost all they symptoms and am miserable every day it’s gets worse i have to be on constant pain meds and other meds and still don’t get much relief. As of now I don’t have a Cfs block. But it could happen. Will I Benefit from surgery should I ask to have it done. I have a husband and an 18 month little boy. I just want to feel better and live again

There is no way for anyone to know what is the right answer for you, or if you would benefit from surgery.

There are a few extra things to consider, given the fact that you have an 18 month old child. It's a major surgery, you would not be able to lift your son (at all) for weeks. Not just bend down a different way, but no lifting him at all. The recovery, even when everything goes perfectly, can be pretty rough.

If you don't have access to full time help with your son, when your husband isn't at home, I would wait.

I hope you can get some relief soon, I understand how much it can suck the life out of you.

My family understands and is here to help. Right now I can barley hold him. I can hardly make I up stairs and can sit or stand for long periods. So surgery would change much I just can’t live how I am right now

I think you should talk to a surgeon and ask their advice on what symptoms they would expect to be relieved by the surgery.

It's a tough call, I wish you luck in figuring out what is best for you.
