Last night was my first night home from the hospital. I woke up several times during the night with pain and this am I feel like there is a lot of pressure in my head. Has anyone experienced this?
Pain is expected ..I think. I had to lay down flat every 2 hrs after my surgery for a few days. It is brain surgery and your body has to heal from it. I followed the Post-surgery instructions completely including meds. Were you released with instructions?
Yes but I’ve read different things on the Internet. I did not go to a Chiari institute, my neurosurgeon is out of strong hospital in Rochester ny. They gave me some instructions and prescriptions for pain meds. The pain med doesn’t seem to be working all that well tho. I’m taking flexiril and dilaudid. Right now I’m not due for anything more and my neck is so stiff and sore and my headache isn’t letting up- I can tell the pressure in my head is high. I’m worried. I don’t want to end up w complications. My 5 yr old daughter also has Chiari I. I am waiting for her to be seen at the chiari institute. Im not taking any chances with her. Her symptoms are just as bad as mine were.
I had flexiril too helped me sleep. I would be also concerned about too much pressure. I had my surgery in Wisconsin @ the Center. I would definitely call your NS and rest as much as possible.
