Possible EDS?

Today I went to the physical therapist for foot/ankle issues I have been having. I have a flexible flat foot and issues with my tendons and muscles in my ankles and feet. It’s been causing a lot of pain. While I was there the physical therapist noted that my knee’s both hyperextend and she thought that my hips did the same thing. She said the way that my muscles and tendons were acting was very odd. I’ve wondered for a while if I could potentially have EDS in addition to the Chiari and this further brought up that potential in my mind as I didn’t realize that my knees were hyperextensive. I’d say I’m borderline on the criteria but also was a lot more flexible when I was younger! Could touch my hands to the floor but can’t do that anymore!

I’m just curious how others have approached this subject with their doctors? And what type of Doctor would actually do this type of diagnosis? Any info is helpful. Thanks!

I wonder the same thing! As a child my parents called me double jointed because of some of the weird ways I’d bend my legs and arms. I also had what I call my Forest Gump braces when I was little due to be bow legged and unsteady on my feet. I also can pop my wrists in and out of place. Use to do that to freak my brother out. But now I think about it maybe eds… Really need to talk to our doctors about this.
