I was diagnosed with a chiari malformation with a 10mm herniation in 2007. I have been dealing with several of the associated symptoms for the past 5 years. I have been to 4 different doctors including the Chiari Institute in Wisconsin, all of which have recommended surgery. Up until now I have been having a MRI done very 6 mos and tolerating the symptoms but for the past 2 months on a daily basis I have been experiencing a pins and needle sensation as well as numbness and tingling in both legs in feet. I am so nervous I think it may be time to have the decompression surgery, however my headches and dizziness have eased up so I really don’t know what to do. Fellow members who may have had the surgery please give me some advice, I already called to schedule the surgery and I have an option btwn 7/30 and 8/2. What should I do, is it really time, can my issues with sensation and weakness get worse ???
You are absolutely correct, thanks for the advice. You will be in my prayers as you go through your surgery tomorrow. When you are feeling up to it please let me know how you are doing
