I have recently started to get a dull pain from the back of my neck into my throat..
does anybody else get that?.. I find it really hard to explain.
Also, my val salvas have gotten worse over the last 6 months.. where it hurts if I shout/laugh (never used to be like this before) and if I try to blow on my daughter's food to cool it down.. i feel really dizzy.
I have also been getting visual issues too.. (but the opthalmologist cant find anything.. and the neurologist just said I had fibromyalgia!)
My NS said its unlikely that I would develop a syrinx if I didnt have one by now.. (im 25)
my MRI was in may 2012... do you think I should get another scan based on my new symptoms?
I would for sure go to the doctor those are symptoms a lot of us have. Always if you’re worried go to your dr. Especially with new symptoms. Good luck my vision sometimes changes daily its cray cray
One NL thought my daughter had fibromyalgia as well. Do you think you have it?
In Lynn's case, she tried some meds and moved on eventually. It was just another misdiagnosis. Turns out her only issue was the CM.

I honestly dont think I have fibromyalgia... my step mum has it - and Im totally different.
I do suffer with joint issues - but I have an inflammatory diagnosis for that called SAPHO syndrome
but the NL, didnt seem to care about that.
Whenever I call my NS office.. i just end up speaking to the nurse and she horrible!! plus im afraid my NS is very matter of fact.. he only ever attributes headaches to chiari and doesnt believe in the other symptoms.
he did offer me surgery due to the val salvas... but i couldnt handle it right now..
hmmm.. I see my opthalmologist at the end of FEB.. so may ask for him to order a new MRI maybe?
ps: (my NS is NHS,,, and my opthalmologist is private)

I would definitely seek a 2nd opinion if I could.. but he's the only chiari specialist near me... he covers most of the county I think. our hospital has a "skull base team" which is highly respected..
I just dont know what to do... :S
