I was diagnosed with chiari in June. Went to a neurologist today and he told me basic Neuro tests were fine. He is going to order more MRI tests that he needs but only because I said I should be going to a neurosurgeon as I am not having normal symptoms. I feel like he was not even listening to me. Just because I passed his stupid little basic tests. I have all the symptoms of a classic chiari case. I am bypassing his guy and going directly to someone that was referred to me by another chiari patient.
That's a good idea, but it seems to me the only help for Chiari other than trying to treat the symptoms, is a surgery that doesn't have a great success rate. Many surgeons are only too happy to operate, though. You could wind up worse off than you are now, so don't rush into anything.
