Newly diagnosed, has anyone else had these symptoms

Hi everyone, I'm new to this group, I was diagnosed with chiari malformation 1 in May this year. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same symptoms as I have.

In May this year after a wonderful 16 night cruise with my sister( we left our husband's at home), walking down the gang way of the ship, I noticed that my tounge started to feel tingly,as if the dentist had numbed it, then about 40 minutes later whilst traveling home by car ( luckily my sister was driving), I began to feel very tired, my speech started to slur , I thought I could hear music, it was plain as day, it was like a radio playing, with music and then some discussion, I kept saying to my sister " can't you hear the music?" I thought one of us had left some musical device on in one of our luggage, by now I had become very confused. I remember that my sister looked really scared, she later told me that I was trying to play with all the controls of the car, and that I was talking double Dutch! She said that this lasted for a few hours. I can remember trying to unwrap a sweet, it took ages and when trying to put it in my mouth, I kept missing it ,so my coordination was all over the place.

My sister pulled into a services and tried to get me out of the car, my legs went from under me and I went down onto the floor, she practically dragged me to the washroom, ( I think some people thought that I was drunk!)

When we finally got home my husband took me to the doctor, I still felt drunk at this time, I. Was sent to hospital, where I was treated for a mini stroke. I was in hospital for a week and they did an MRI scan, this showed that I had Chiari Malformation. I then saw a Neurologist who informed me that this had caused the episode I had. I have a 13mm herniated and the scan is also showing a kink, I am now waiting to see a Neurosurgeon, to determine whether or not I have to have a operation.

Please can anyone tell me if you have had a similar experience. I suffer from fatigue, depression and insomnia, but I have always put this down to my arthritis. Since the episode I have been suffering from bad headaches and pain in the back of my neck( I never suffered with this before) so I don't know what to think?

It makes sense that it is related to chiari to me. Some of my symtoms are freakish. I believe the tougue issue can be due to compression of the cerebral tonsils and/or the brain stem if im not mistaken.
The drunk looking thing, ya i look that way when shopping with my mom i find it funny now that i wonder around grabbing on to things to help me keep from falling and she gets mad at me. Just trying to keep her laughing lol.

Keep researching the symptoms i am, ive found it always leadback to my good ol chiari.
