Hi Everybody!! I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation 3 weeks ago and having surgery May 6th. Wow that was quick!! Have a 17mm herniation. Have been having symptoms my whole life. My chiari was found because, I was having intense shoulder pain and dr sent me to therapy and just made the pain worse. Had an MRI and there it was. I was thankful for them to finally find something staring right at them that was wrong but nervous about surgery. Since then I have just been going down the tubes, dizziness, pounding headaches,fatigue you name it. For the last 5years I've been diagnosed with everything under the sun. Fibromyalga, sleep problems, thyroid issues, irregular heartbeat, fatigue, IBS and up until now no one could tell me why this all was happening. Hopefully the surgery will help some of the symptoms. I have been looking at the message boards along with the groups on facebook and have found this very comforting to know that I am not alone in this.
