I am a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, my oldest, Taylor (18), just graduated high school and will be going to cosmetology school in the fall and my youngest, McKenzie is 14. They are my life and my inspiration. I have a wonderful family and friends and know that God has blessed me in more ways than I deserve. I work full time for a cosmetic dentist, and I have a part time job hosting live trivia. I truly love my work. In my spare time I love to go to yard/garage sales and thrift stores to treasure hunt. I LOVE the water, boating, swimming, water parks, love it all! There isn't really alot that I don't enjoy. I wouldn't say that I wish my days away, but I must say that I always look forward to Sunday mornings. It is the only time that is guaranteed that my girls and I will all be together(because of busy schedules), we ride to church together, serve in the 2 year old class, then attend service at the 11:00 hour. It is the best way I know to recharge and begin each week. I hope each of you is feeling well enough to do at least one thing every day that you love! Hugs!
Missallen, you sound very busy!!!! I have a 14 yr girl...and an 11 yr old girl....they are a lot on fun (most days,LOL) I too, love yard sales and one of my favorite things to do is go to 'junk shops'..my motto is ..'the dirtier you get, the more fun you have!!' The girls were over the moon...I even went on it!! I could not believe how much smoother this rides than a power boat....Even though we really can't afford it..we basically said..'the kids are getting older , we are surrounded by beautiful lakes, we never take them on fancy vacations..so go for it!" Yup..we can justify just about anything in this household!!!LOL...I thought for sure my mom was going to make a remark about it..but..she was THRILLED....knowing how much the kids wanted one...anyway..I even got on it....so much smoother than a power boat!!
Alicia ...your ring is STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Diamoneque , I think is the closest you can get to a diamond.....Personally..I told my hubby b4 we got married..I would not want him to go into 'hock' over an engagement ring..like some of our friends have...He bought my ring at a pawn shop...!! then a couple of yrs later he bought an insert with small rubies and small diamonds on the side!! gorgeous....but not a lot of money....I guess you can get good deals at pawn shops!! Your ring is great..love the style...when is the wedding?? Have you picked a date????
Varyna Jane, love your name BTW....The party sounds like it was so fun!!! Great theme!!! I love to read too, as long as my vision is cooperating!!! I am now ADDICTED to the CASEY ANTHONY TRIAL....I don't know if you have heard about it down your way...sad story about a young mom and her 2.5 yr girl..bascially the mom may have killed her (i think she did).....I love court cases in general...find them intriguing....how the US Justice system works.
Well we are not technically engaged. We talk about it all the time though. We are looking to save money and move in together first. We are both living with our parents. That ring was a valentineās day present. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling with moving together soon. Its tough though Iām not making enough to save anything yet and he is still trying to find a job and finish college.
I see this discussion is kind of old, but I will reply anyway!
I am 31 years old, a pharmacist, and have been married for a bit over 2 years now. My biggest passion is animals, specifically dogs. I try to get involved as much as I can in rescues and shelters. I have 3 dogs, Owen who is almost 11, Lola almost 6, and Blade who just turned 5. Owen and Blade are Weimaraners and Lola is a Border Collie mix. They are my babies! I most enjoy taking them to a park, to swim, or for long walks when I am able. We are in the process of buying a couple of acres and will be building a house on the land. The dogs have seemed to outgrow the yard we have now, so the land is more for them than me! I also plan to foster some dogs in the near future. My dog trainer, who has become a friend runs a rescue, and I hope to work with her to help place some dogs soon. Who knows, maybe even get another!
Besides dogs, I love the outdoors and anything active. Unfortunately, lately I haven't had the energy to do as much as I would normally. I love to hike, bike, and boat. I have recently started to get headaches and become nauseous when I am in the boat, so I don't know how much of that I will get to do this summer.
I am very much a DIYer. I like to do projects in my house and yard and love HGTV. I am addicted to the shows on that station and find that whenever I see something I like, I just have to try it. That has become a little bit harder recently as well. I try to limit what I lift and what kind of work that I do, but when I don't, I really pay for it!
Alicia, you said you work at a hotel in Gettysburg...is it haunted? I am also amazed by things such as spirits, "ghosts," and anything "haunted." Whenever I come across anything on tv related to these things, I am forced to watch them.
My daughter was a die-hard Mickey fan. I used to buy her everything Mickey. Her wedding cake had a Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse topper. I tried to talk her out of it, but that's what she wanted. She never really liked Minnie as a kid. When I asked her why, she said "Because she has Mickey" LOL!

Oh wow I bet that party was a blast!! Happy belated birthday!!:)
My college graduation cake was the main disney characters like Mickey/Minnie/Goofy etc... it was a sheet cake with a group image on it. Haha my friends got a kick out of it!
Joe and I want to get married in disneyworld (gotta start saving the $$! lol) I want a mickey wedding ring :p
Lori, I love watching court TV too. I watch some of the Casey Anthony trial too. When I retired I thought I woud enjoy going to the local court house and listening to trials. I actually went down and got a copy of their docket. Then I started having the surgeries. So, I haven't sat in on any yet; but it's still on my bucket list. I love forensic science stuff.

I am 23 me and my husband of almost 3 years have two kids Ellison 3 and Dameian 2, we have 2 dogs, mastiff- Earl and a large mix- Rusty who think they are lap dogs and 2 cats a one year old calico tabby named White and a new 10 week old tan boy named Oscar. we both enjoy aquariums so we have a few of those with fish and turtles. we keep busy both of us are in college and work full time. we try and take a family vacation twice a year -my favorite two times of the year! we either go camping on the beach at padre national seashore, or up to colorado springs to go camp in the mountains. we dont have time to do much on the week days usually dinner homework and maybe a movie on less busy nights, but we try and take the kids out every weekend to either the zoo or just for walks to playing in the yard.
My sister has 4 turtles. Actually her dog Buddy, german sheppard/lab mix has the pet turtles. LOL he thinks they're his. He 'helps' her feed them and clean their tank. He gets so excited just watching them. He will lick their shell if we have them out but he doesn't eat them. He just wants to play with them.
Yes.. His wife was Sunny....He used insulin to kill her....but she remained in a coma for many yrs. He was convicted the 1st time...then on appeal got off.
Lori, I'm doing good. Just got back from seeing neurosurgeon to discuss my back surgery. He wants to do a decompression of some of the nerves to get rid of all of the pain I am having on the left side. Said I really need a major back surgery, but doesn't really want to do that one for fear of "destabilizing" me.....sure wouldn't want that. Have to think about it for awhile, but I think I am going to do it. If I can get rid of that pain, there will be no stopping me...........
Oh Shirley....sorry for all you are dealing with regarding back surgery ...You sure do need to think about it...i would do the same...Keep us posted on what you decide and when your surgery is, ok???
Itās gonna be WHEN I get up the nerve. I have a lump on my foot which I had MRIād todayā¦hopefully itās nothing. I had a rare fracture on that foot right after my first aneurysm surgery and itās never really been quite right since I broke itā¦does a lot of swelling. Hopefully with this MRI I will find out what, if anything, is still wrong with it. Got to get that out of the way and a couple of other little things. The doctor told me that I had some slippage of one of the bones in my neck too - now I REALLY didnāt want to hear that. I think thatās probably what happened about a month ago when I felt like my neck collapsed and I couldnāt move my head or my arm up. It went away in about l0 days just as suddently as it came on though. Doctor didnāt propose doing anything about it though, so, weāll see. Iām kinda ready to be doneā¦just trying to keep my big girl panties upā¦sometime I feel like they might be droooping a little LOL! Went walking on the boardwalk with my husband and mty 94 year old father in law who is here visitingā¦for the first time I didnāt feel like the slow oneā¦usually my husband has to slow down to walk with meā¦but TODAY, I was out in front of themā¦how about that!!!
So I went to the Harry Potter midnight premiere in Columbia Md with some friends. It was a blast! I dressed up of course. It was sad. The closing of my childhood. I started with Harry Potter when the first book came out. It wasn't even huge then. :'( Thats ok. I will continue to read and re-read them. lol.
Joe and I after the movie. Joe didn't dress up. Party pooper. lol
