I hope everyone is doing well, and having a pain free week, and hopefully a pain free weekend & Mother's Day.
I, however, have been having anything but pain free days, but not due to Chiari. I just had my 2nd laparoscopic pelvic surgery on Tuesday, and have not been doing well since. They diagnosed me with endometriosis and pelvic adhesion from the 1st surgery back in Sept from my ectopic pregnancy. I've been in and out of the ER and Dr's office since Wednesday, and it's only Friday! I had a complicated recovery, and was almost admitted due to uncontrollable nausea and reaction to one of the several meds they gave me. I was sent home on Percocet and Ibuprofen, but had an allergic reaction to the Percocet that I've never had before. Since it wasn't controlling the pain and I was extremely pale and weak, I went to the ER on Wed per my Dr and all they did was give me Oxycodone which caused another allergic reaction. Saw my Dr yesterday, and she prescribed me Vicodin and Prednisone. Took the Vicodin at night and within minutes developed a severe rash and tight throat. Went to the ER and they had to give me 2 IV doses of Benadryl plus 2 other IV meds to counter act the reaction. Told me that since I have ITP and allergic reaction to all those narcotics (my platelet count is low and was at 79,000 yesterday compared to 82,000 on Monday) that they couldn't give me any pain meds to help my pain from the surgery. Which is getting pretty unbearable by this point. They told me I could try Tramadol in a low dose, but that also gave me another rash this morning, so now I'm told to only take Ibuprofen and Extra strength Tylenol. My incisions also came open today, so now I have to worry about that and watch them for more bleeding and possible infection.
I have my family freaking out, and constantly calling me to make sure everything is okay. Sorry, I know this has NOTHING to do with anything related to Chiari, but I thought I would update you all since you've all been such a great help to me so far.
