So here I sit in the hospital. It took everything in me to go to the ER for the pressure in my head. I have seen at least four physicians a hospitalist, neurologist, the neurosurgeons PA and the PA to the floor i am admitted to. Which ironicly i usually work on. I have now had to explain the reason I am here to everyone of them. Going to hav another MRI And CSF flow study but not until 1:45am. They are trying many different combinations of medications to help head. I keep telling them the pressure is there 24/7 and never goes away.
I'm sorry you are feeling so badly! Keep us posted on your tests and I hope you get some relief soon!
I’m glad you went in Melanie, I’m sure you are at your limit if you took yourself to the hospital. What do you think about Ems suggestion about the LP?
Home now with no answers. Told my scans look good but not sure what they said no one would tell me. Also told it would take a year from surgery for pressure to go away. Can’t say surgery was a success until at least a year has past. So I asked the NS that saw me how my NS can say it is a success then. He says because CM less low lying and CSF flow less diminished. What I am trying to figure out is shouldn’t I have complete flow of my CSF isn’t that a wanted outcome? They increased my dose of topamax to 50 mg twice daily and said continue fiorcet which helps headaches but not the god awful pressure. I go February 6 for my neurological psychiatrist evaluation for the occipital stimulater for deep brain stimulation. Follow up with NL on Tuesday and NS on Thursday. Gonna ask my NL to take me off work cause I can’t continue to work in this condition. The pressure is just the tip of the iceberg. Thank you all for your concern.
