Hey everyone, I am planning my first solo getaway since I've gotten sick. I booked through a travel agent who is well aware of my limitations. She's notified the airlines I'll need assistance, the hotel that I'll need a handicap accessible room.
Any tips or suggestions about how to make it a smooth journey? Even though the travel agent has noted the airline, should I call the airport in advance to let them know I'll be bringing my meds, CPAP, and wheelchair? Once I get to the resort, I don't plan on leaving until I go back to the airport. They are steps from the beach, have restaurants on site not to mention room service. I can't wait to go and I want to make it as smooth and relaxing as possible!
Haha, nope, wasn't kidding. I told my husband I need to get out of here and he saw the panic in my eyes and we booked the trip. March 4th I will be on the beach on Kauai. I told the travel agent, "Get me somewhere warm, quiet, on the beach and in my budget." That's just what she did! Luckily we had a little left over from when I finally got approved for my work's long-term disability plan. Keeping myself busy checking travel tip websites, going over my packing list over and over and OVER lol I checked out the resort, the ratings, the restaurants... I just want to get there and immediately plop down on the lanai with a book. :D
