Has anyone else had GI issues as a symptom of your chiari malformation? Always being nauseous, bad acid reflux, ect.? I have for three years now, and my surgeon thinks decompression surgery Friday will solve these problems but just curious as do if anyone else has had these GI/stomach problems too.
Yes, Tamara, GI issues abound for me. Reflux, gastritis, malabsorption, IBS, and esophogeal strictures. I attribute the swallowing/choking issues to Chiari, but the rest I attribute To Ehlers Danlos Syndrome- a popular side kick to chiari.

I agree with Jenn and Rebecca, it's likely the not-so great side kick! I've had the decompression and it helped so many things, but not so much the stomach things. I hope you have different results!! But likely one of the many not-so-friendly sidekicks.
