I know we have a lot of new members and I know there are several "lurkers" here too. I just wanted to point out some REALLY helpful places.
In the dark purple bar across the top, under the tab MEMBER SERVICES is a great place to find very helpful Chiari related medical forms! Things like doctor visit forms, mood trackers, sleep diary, etc. Also under MEMBER SERVICES, check out calendar-you can add events like appointments, surgeries, etc. so that you can get some extra encouragement, prayers, and helpful tips! "Doctor Appointments 101" is a great place for new Chiarians who are meeting with a new neurologist (NL) neurosurgeon (NS) or other physician. They list important things to bring as well as important questions to ask! "Member Resources" provides helpful links to outside websites with more information. There is also a list of "Recommended Doctors" there. This list is compiled from other members on the site and not insurance companies, doctors, hospitals, etc. These doctors are recommended by members here who have had good experiences with these physicians. There is also a thread with a more up-to-date list. Just click "DISCUSSIONS" and type in recommended doctors in the little search bar.
Click on the MEMBERS page and add people. The more "friends" you add, the more support and encouragement you will have! You can "lurk" after adding friends, we won't bug you and harass you.
The "DISCUSSIONS" page is a must! That's where all the meat is around here! Scroll through and read. I suggest before you Add a Post, type your question in the little search bar there. That helps save repeating the same information. Remember though, if you post there-that information is viewable to all members. Please don't post pictures with private and personal information (for safety reasons.) Also, as I'm sure you've seen in places, for legal reasons, do not post negative reviews and experiences about physicians or facilities. If someone asks, you may private message, but negative reviews should not be made public. Positive reviews are welcome and encouraged so that we can, as a network, seek and find the best possible doctors.
The "MY PAGE" tab is where you can view your messages, comments made to your wall or discussions you have posted, or replied to.
