For about a week straight I was experiencing symptoms…headache…neck pain…confusion…brain fog…unsteadiness etc. I was told upon viewing my mri that I have a 5 mm herniation. I saw a neuro who kinda blew me off and told me my symptoms weren’t from the herniation. I don’t believe him. Anyway my question is…can the symptoms come and go? I don’t always have them. Sometimes change in weather patterns cause them to reoccur. I would love anyone’s input. Thank u
Btw I have known about my 5 mm herniation for years now. This isn’t a recent diagnosis.
No to all you asked. My main symptoms are headaches at the base of my skull that radiates through my head toward my eyes…neck/stiff neck pain. Popping noises when I move my head around. Unsteady feeling when walking. Speech confusion…sometimes I get a bad taste in my mouth. Now these things only occur when I go through these headache episodes. Like today my headache and neck ache is gone. I feel much better. What do u think about my 5 mm herniation?
Also I have had a few fainting episodes throughout my life. FYI
I def don’t think its ED. Do u think the 5 mm could b causing my symptoms. Also a cousin of mine has chiari also. She had to have decompression. Do you have similar symptoms to me? Do yours come and go?
Hi there,
I also have symptoms that come and go and vary in intensity/severity.
I do not have EDS and don't seem to have POTS either.
I do have heartbeat in my ears, see spots at times and going up and down stairs or bending over and then looking up can cause vertigo and headache.
Then, one day my symptoms decided to mostly stay.
Headaches got worse as did vertigo.
Dunno why.
I have only the Chiari and some mild osteoarthritis in my lower back and a tiny disc issue in my mid spine.
I do get migraines as well which won't go away with decompression.
So, anyway, I DO have many of the same symptoms you do and don't have the other issues and am getting decompressed on the 13th of Jan.
I hope it helps to know others symptoms do come and go.
Oh and the weather changes are horrible for me and bring about symptoms. Though it is mostly a change and not cold per se. Heat makes me way worse especially humid weather.
Yes, symptoms can come and go, and I’m glad you didn’t believe the NL-how in the heck would he know? Abby gave some really great info about EDS and dysautonomia.
