Different symptoms!

I found out the size of my Chiari is 2.2 cm. My major complaint to my gp was hormonal problems and weight gain. He decided to send me for an MRI because of abnormal lab work. I get headaches but I could always explain them away. Any ideas of why it might be affecting me this way or could it still be something else?

Hi
I have been diagnosed with empty sella syndrome. This is when the pituitary gland is missing or not seen in the sella (the small saddle like structure that it sits in). I was told that this is common in CM because of the pressure inside the head kind of smooshes it. The pituitary is the master hormone regulator so if it is damaged or missing it can affect hormones. Sometimes it can cause early menopause (which it did in my case) or any number of hormonal problems, or possibly no problems at all.
Hope everyone is having a pain free day,
Barb
