Hi there. My 21 month old daughter was just diagnosed with Chiari 1 14MM. The size of this has me so scared. We have a sleep study scheduled in March and the a spinal mri after that. With it being so big, is surgery immanate?

Well you know it’s not about size really it’s whether the child is symptomatic and or has a syrinx.
If neither then no. don’t do surgery.
It’s hell. absolute hell.
It’s made me worse. I definitely
wouldn’t put a child through that unless for the reasons mentioned above.
