Recently diagnosed with Chiari and the neurosurgeon is referring me to a neurologist to test for cerebrovascular disease. Does anyone have any experience with this?
There are many Cerebrovascular Diseases did they give you any idea what they are looking for?
No. It's kind of been an odd experience to start this journey out. My GP sent the MRI report to a NS who had an assistant call and interview me. The assistant called back a week later with this suggestion, so now my GP has referred me to a neurologist. I thought I was lucky to have this condition diagnosed within months of the onset of symptoms, but it feels like finding a doctor who understands Chiari is not going to be so easy. I was just wondering if it is a common response to ignore the Chiari malformation and look for vascular causes for the symptoms.
