My doctor wants me to see a cardiologist for chiari related issues. I’ll be seeing Dr. Sutherell (I think I spelled it right) either this Wednesday or next Wednesday in St. Louis. Have you ever seen a cardiologist for chiari related things? What’d they say? Have you ever met with this doctor?
Taylor,
Most of our Members don't see a Cardiologist unless they have POTS. I see a Cardiac Electrophysiologist and was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia last December. POTS is a type of Dysautonomia which is a Autonomic Disorder. I have included a link on Autonomic Disorders - Dysautonomia for you. Since I was diagnosed and started treatment,I have felt lots better. I thought I had just been falling & breaking bones and getting closed concussions because I couldn't look down when I walk. It was really because my heart rate would jump from 70 something to over 230 & I would get dizzy & pass out. You don't always pass out though & may have multiple symptoms.
Please don't be alarmed if Members aren't familiar with Dr. Sutherell. Not all Chiarians have Cardiac issues.
If you have any questions please let me know,
Tracy Z.
