Can't believe I'm in the Hospital with another serious health problem:(

Wow…so here I am…sitting in my hospital room awaitIng answers. Came in through ER with rectal bleeding. I have a history of diverticulitis and figured I was having a stress related flair up. When CT scan results came back there is bleeding in my small colon and they also saw a mass in my colon. I was admitted and put on IIV liquids and antiibiotics . They hope to get the diverticulitis calmed down and hopefully schedule a colonoscopy and biopsy Thursday or Friday. Tried. Lear liquids yesterday- no go but and doing better so far today. My Mri’s were scheduled here tonite and tomorrow night for the Chiari and I’m awaiting a Nero consult to see if I can go ahead and have them done as an inpatient. Praying that can be done so that I’ll have them for my neuro appt next week. Praying to get out of here by then as well. Hope it’s not cancer but if so, I know God will hold me tight through all of this as he has all of my lIfe. FeelIng a little better today and positive that no matter what the diagnosis is…I’ll be ok. I’ll again with an update soon. Thank you so much for being here. It means so much to me to be able to come to you all and share support and encouragement :slight_smile:

I am praying for you. Definitely push for what you need and want while you are in the hospital. The squeeky wheel gets the grease and you are entitled to having your needs and wishes filled. If you need help advocating for yourself ask for back up from a family member or good friend. It always helps to have another pair of eyes and ears witness interactions with doctors and other healthcare gate keepers. Bless you and let us know.......Wendy

I am sorry you are having issues. Last year I was hospitalized for the same issues pretty much. I had diverticulitis that caused a perforation in my colon causing me to go toxic. They ended up taking 10 inches of my sigmoid colon and putting me on a lot of antibiotics. I then had to fight a couple bad cases of C Diff. Then a few months later find out that I had Chiari and had immediate surgery. I was in the hospital 62 days last year. I can feel your pain, frustration, and wanting it all to come to a end so you can enjoy life.
