I have seen a very respected neurosurgeon, Dr. Holly Gilmer-Hill, who wanted to do surgery and I got 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinions from other neurosurgeons who said I did not need surgery but this was back in 2011. I am waiting for an apt at U of M where they have a Chiari Clinic. My dad has a friend that had her surgery there so I'm suppose to be meeting with her to talk. I'm scared of surgery but I'm also scared of what could happen if I don't get the surgery. Just curious if anyone has had their surgery here in Michigan.
Had my surgery in Michigan at DMC. My NS was Dr. Guthikonda. He only did decompression no duraplasty. I am not sure if that was for the best at least for me. I am still having problems. Every person and their personal outcomes are different. He says success I say not due to issues I am still having. I wish you luck in your decision.
Thanks for your feed back, I'm sorry your still having issues I sure don't wish this on anyone, the things we have to go through...I wish you luck and hope you get some relief.
