Im 2003 I was in a car accident and was hit from behind. I ended up with pretty bad whiplash and was refered to a Chiropractor. The doctor did xrays on my neck and said I need manipulation therapy, so for 3 months I went to him 3 times a week and had adjustments and was put and several different machines (I called them taffy pullers, lol) I did not now about my Chiari at that time.
I am currently on disability because of severe back and neck pain. My question is how did this affect my Chiari and did it do any permanent damage? I also wonder if maybe it contributed to making my pain worse all these years?
I have had numerous chiropractors for many years I have always felt they were the only ones that could help, but now I’m not sure it was the right thing to do.There were times when they have seemed to relieve some of the pain for very short periods.I went to a upper cervical for some time,he did’nt adjust the whole spine he only used a stylist to adjust the atlas and he helped the most, but as i said it was always short lived. If it was the wrong thing to do it was one of those things that was done because there was no one else to help.My search for answers went on for 27yrs.as we try to find answers there’s no way to know what to do I have’nt ask my NS if that was wrong. It didn’t seem to make me feel worse and at times that didn’t do anything at all.
I have an equestrian cousin who regularly visits a renowned chiropractor. I was very interested when I was younger, but when he saw my MRI he refused to attempt to treat me. Now I understand and am grateful. I hope this comment finds you greatly improved!
