A lot has happened since I first found out I had CM1 in May 2012.
My symptoms seem to become worse between 2012 to now, and it was extremely frustrating seeing Dr. After Dr with no answers. 1 says its low laying tonsils no CM1, another Chiari Center says you need surgery, another Center says its Tonsilare Estopia lol!
I finally went to The Chiari Center in Aurora CO. The staff there was great. I described all my symptoms, went through their test everyone was great. My husband and I drove from AZ (husband did all the driving) and we ended up getting sick the whole stay. When I finally got to see the NS he was very friendly and told us what we wanted to hear NO SURGERY...I was not feeling well and he described that I had Tonsilare Estopia (can grantee I spelled that wrong lol! ). One side was 2mm and the other was 5mm. Told me I had to go on a diet to help with the symptoms. Also needed a spinal tab to determine the amount of pressure in my head to determine a type of drug to help with the pressure. He said that if he performed the surgery it would make things worse and cause the brain to slump. At this point I was just happy to hear no surgery. You see I had lost my job and loss my grandfather and was sick on the trip, the anticipation of just hearing no surgery took every question I wanted to ask out the window...
Well we went back to Tucson and I saw my new Primary and told him everything. He stopped me to say "Could the NS explain why you were having these symptoms? Why did he diagnose you with Tonsilare Estopia, I'm still diagnosing you with CM1. Did he explain why you went from 3 to 5mm?" He made me realize that I did not ask the questions that I needed to. He was the "ONLY" Dr who asked if he could pray with me...I was speechless...
So, here we go again...He referred me to a Nuerolgist who seemed to be willing to view all the symptoms. She prescribe me with 3 different meds and physical therapy.
1.Nausea
2.Sleep and pain
3. Major type of headache
I am not the type that likes to take any meds but Tylenol or Ibuprofen. The side effects did not look to good as well. I am just so confused as to why I have such a long list of symptoms and feel like I'm going in circles. I looked at my Dad and said "How old you again Daddy?" He said "61." I just told him. " I am only 30 and have 3 different types of meds, spinal tap and physical therapy LOL!" My dad has had good health except for High Blood pressure.
So I decided....This is what I am going to do...
1. Trust in God that he will help, provide and guide me with the right people.
2. Change my lifestyle and read a book on "The China Study" and how plant based diets can heal you. At least maybe this may help me shed pounds and eliminate some symptoms.
3. Do that darn spinal tap and just start from square one ( I don't want to but will)
4. Get a new Career lol!
5. Change my life! Kick these symptoms in the @##$%!@#@!
6. Be opened to hear from you all....
