The Affordable Care Act is Now Live and you can now enroll. If you are uninsured, or have insurance but are interested in a lower-cost plan, please visit the government website:
https://www.healthcare.gov/
Understandably, you may have many questions about The Affordable Care Act and how it applies to you. There is a fun and informative “lesson” about The Affordable Care Act on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZkk6ueZt-U#t=264
There is also a preliminary section on the government website to help you understand your options before enrolling:
https://www.healthcare.gov/quick-answers/#step-1
There is also a helpline at the Health Insurance Marketplace Call Center at 1.800.318.2596.
Please be patient. Over 1 million Americans visited the site yesterday to enroll, and there have been some glitches and delays. If you are unable to access the site, use the helpline, and a representative may be able to email you personalized insurance options. Remember: You have from now until March 30, 2014 to enroll. After March 30, enrollment may be subject to delays. Please share any things you learn that could be helpful to other members!

Hi...

This reply many not sit well with some...but I have to say this is happening to my family now...My husband works for a fairly large company and they pay part of our health care premium .

When he got his review and his raise ..we were thrilled. Then there was a HUGE increase in the health care premium...so now he makes $1,250.00 LESS a year...some raise, right?

This is due to the fact that it is the heath insurance went up...HR called the ins. company and it was told to HR that because now adult 'children' up to the age of 26 must be covered on your family plan...even if they are not in school...So, this why I am having an issue with Affordable Care Act....well, that is 1 reason....

All I can say is that I pray it works itself out and the middle class, go to work every day, pay their taxes, accept personal responsability does get the short end of the stick in financing The Affordable Care Act..

If my husbands 'raise' is any indication....I am very fearful !

Pre Existing isn't waived until 1/1/14 so please if you need a policy and can wait please do.
