Many of us feel the same way. The really sad part is, they really don't get it, as well as some of our families and friends. It is been such a life saver for me to have a group like Ben's Friends. I am so sorry to hear and read the pain that you are in. I know how you feel. It doesn't matter about insurance or not going to the E.R. They can't turn you away or refuse treatment. Call the ambulance and have them to come and get you. Please try not to let yourself get so far gone that ending your life is the only way you see. You have to reach out and hold on to your Faith. God will see you through this. I will lift you up in prayer every night.
Thank you Ms Taurus. I wasnt actually in bad pain when that happened. Was trying to avoid a guaranteed world of pain by getting my meds filled. I really do not know what you have to be diagnosed with to NOT be treated like a junkie!!! I have extremely symptomatic chiari, a severe syrinx, & a mystery growth stemming from the syrinx. It just never ends. I called my surgeons office today & told them what happened. Told them I NEED their help finding a neurologist or pain mangmt doc, as they are the largest spine & brain group in NY. I got NO help. was informed that the only 2 neourologists he recommends are in another county, PERIOD. No offer to make a few calls, This is the same woman who promised to call me back within a day when I had a new symptom & wanted to know how concerned I should be. SURPRISE!!! no call back. I'm sorry, but I am at a loss for faith at this point.

I am thinking of you,sure wish you could find a way to get to a chiari specialist,it is really the only way to get help.I went through so many Dr.s and no diagnosis,you are being prayed for. We are here to help any time you need us.

thank you, LYNN. I guess the surgeon I found is a chiari "specialist". He is knowledgeable & has wrote articles on it. Problem now is that he is not that close. While I am waiting to finish all the tests he ordered, I just need someone to work with me on pain management & medication. Sounds like the easy part, I know, but between my insurance limitations, & the lack of doctors who know anything about it, or care, it has proven just as hard, & honestly, just thinking about starting over AGAIN is so upsetting after what the last 2 places did to me. Going to spend my day today making the phone calls & hope for the best. At the very least, I need someone to take me within 2 weeks to renew my medication. That alone is a huge challenge. Checked with my surgeon, & he only affiliates with 2 doctors, both by him. Its worth it for me to travel for the surgeon, but cant really manage to travel every 2 weeks for that, & also needed someone closer for emergencies that arent quite 911. Thank you so very much for your support, I need it so much

Just wanted to share this with you guys. Went to the dentist today. Was in so much pain & when she put the chair back she asked what was wrong. When I explained my situation, her assistant Jamie asked if I tried the neuro right by there & said how wonderful they are. I told her how other people said great things about them, & they actually take my insurance, but there is almost a 3 month wait tio get in. She said she has an appointment there in a few weeks but was going to cancel it. She gave me her home # so we could try to swap out her appointment. Even offered to go in with me if it would help get me the appointment. WOW! The only place I have encountered such kindness is here!!! Just felt like passing that along, & whether or not I get that appointment, that touched me. Gave me the boost I needed to get up & start dealing with this again. Who would think, such a happy day, AT THE DENTIST!! Thank you Jamie
