We need some positive news from time to time...so I thought I would share my good news with some of you---maybe this could be of some encouragement. I underwent the decompression brain surgery June 4th for CM1 and a Syrinx. The pre-op report stated that I had an almost nearly complete blockage of CSF flow...we all know how bad that could have been. I had a CINE MRI in September to determine if my condition had gotten any better, or if I would need a shunt put in. The neurosurgeon thought I may need a shunt due to my migraines being so severe since the surgery (lasting up to 5 days at a time--and pain medication wasn't working to relieve the pain); the Cine MRI came back normal--Thank God! My neurosurgeon calls me the "lucky lady" to go from an almost completely blocked CSF flow of fluid to having the malformation not even being present on the MRI anymore. I do however have severe neck pain from the removal of my 1st vertebrae during the procedure; and he is sending me to a specialist for the migraines.

I’m happy to hear things are going so well for you. The headaches concern me. I had the decompression surgery which technically was a success (no more blockage of cfs). I had worse headaches and symprtoms, and now dealing with other issues. I hope you continue to get better and the headaches lesson for you as well. 🙂
