My chiari 1 was an incidental finding on a recent MRI. I have so many of the symptoms, dizziness, near constant headaches, vertigo, neck, shoulder and the pain radiates into my face and back, balance issues and fatigue.Was sent to a neck specialist, who ordered an MRI. The radiologist recommended I have a 2nd MRI with contrast because they found a "lesion" on my spine which has turned out to be a cyst. The md is telling me my symptoms are not part of the Chiari. but everything I have read shows otherwise. How do I get him to send me to a neurologist who specializes in Chiari, instead of one who doesn't? I have been on pain meds for over 4 months for these symptoms and they don't help. I have only a 5 mm herniation with a 3 mm hydromelia at the C6 level. Any suggestions? Right now I am waiting for my insurance to approve the neuro consult?
