# Neurological exam: Romberg test and reflexes

When I had my neuro exam, I failed the Romberg test (standing with your eyes closed) miserably. Also, the nurse noted that my reflexes were way too hypersensitive. She asked if I knew that, and I told her "no". She said "That is NOT normal."
I was curious how you all did on these tests and what they told you that it indicated. I think they are looking for both chiari and syrinxes.

My PCP did a couple of tests on me last week. My left side absolutely did not respond to any of the tests. I also failed the Romberg. Waiting to see a neurosurgeon tomorrow...!

My NS had said that my reflexes were hypersensitive prior to surgery. I am pretty sure they still are but my NL doesn't tell me anything. I don't know what the Romberg test is. But I fail the arms out eyes closed too.
