My son 8 months later

My son Ben, is 17 and after four years of feeling sick and throwing up and every type of Dr.and psychologist trying their craft on him, he was diagnosed with a malformation and sugury was done.

We finally thought we had the answer,The first month he felt better but 8 months later , he lays in bed most all day , gets up in the afternoon and then is laying down again by dinner time . he has missed his whole high school years and we are almost out of ideas . He feels sorta seasick and doesn't eat much till later in the evening.

Seaweed,

I am so sorry your son is suffering. We all feel so helpless as parents when our kids struggle. My son doesn't have Chiari but he does have Type1 Diabetes and it is so painful to see him in pain and not at his best. Homeopathy could definitely help some of you sons symptoms. Because you live in California I am sure you could find a good Homeopath near you. If you want help I have a link that brings them up by zipcode and I can help you weed them out by qualifications if you want. If you wish there is 2 mixed Homeopathic remedies that may help your son feel a little better

King Bio spray....Nausea and Motion Sickness...Spray under tongue several times a day when nauseous

http://www.amazon.com/King-Bio-Nausea-Motion-Sickness/dp/B000F8M532

And or Hylands Motion Sickness

http://www.amazon.com/Hylands-Homeopathic-Motion-Sickness-tablets/dp/B0009F3N46/ref=sr_1_1?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1352246960&sr=1-1&keywords=hylands+motion+sickness

They may not take it away but they may take the edge off. They both have a different mixture of the most 'popular' or effective remedies for nausea due to motion sickness. If they don't work it doesn't mean that homeopathy won't help it just means that he may need more specialized help from a Homeopath. If you want to try one I'd try the King Bio one first but there are no downsides to trying both if you wish. If they have the right remedy you feel the effects immediately. Amazon takes things back and Homeopathy doesn't have any drug interations or negative side effects. They either help or they don't.

I know that some people believe that Homepathy is only a placebo but we have used it in our family for 17 years and we have seen it and felt it work. It basically points your immune system in the right direction to help your body fight symptoms. It can't fix Chiari because it's a anitomical issue but it can help mitigate some of the issues associated with Chiari. Homeopathy is very effective for Homeopathy once you found the right one.

I hope this helps. If you need any help let me know.

I'm 17 years old, i am about 5 months out of a decompression and i had what seem like the same hopes you did. i was sick almost all my life with so many things that seemed unrelated, when i was diagnosed with CM last may it seemed like we finally had an answer. but now 5 months post op i feel no better then i did before and its really hurting my performance in school, i dont really know what normal is, but i can say that what im feeling seems similar to what your son is feeling.

Has your son had a total Spine MRI? I am sorry I am just asking questions but it will help us help you. What type of doctor is your son seeing for follow up care? Has his Neurosurgeon seen him lately & if so what is he saying? Tell us about his pre surgical symptoms. Did he have any C Spine issues? What medications is he on now? There is a lot of variables that have to be considered when dealing with post op symptoms. I really think you came to the right place for answers. I am very sorry your son is still suffering.

He has had a follow up mri and the ns says everything looks fine . He is depressed and struggles with taking anti anxiety meds . Thank you for the remedy We'll try it. We belong to Kaiser and he sees a psychiatrist, stomach specialist and this Friday we have an appointment with the NS Dr. that did his decompression. There is a Dr. Lester in Watsonville whom we are planning to see after the follow up Friday to try some Homeopathy. He is currently taking Ranitidine hydrochloride 150 mg. Clonazepam .25mg citalopram hydrobromide 50mg

I never heard of POTS but will do some research. so no ,not tested. I just looked it up and it's very similar to what he goes thru. His pre sugury systems were the same as now only he says worse.

Thank you so much for all the help, ideas and support . When I saw all the responses it brought tears to my eyes. I'm overwhelmed with it all.

Seaweed,

I looked up Dr.Lester. The clinic looks really good. The only thing I would say is take it slow. Sometimes when they have multiple types of treatments it can get confusing and expensive. The tests can add up and then suppliments ect... I would hope that they take it slow. Homeopathy is very effective and very powerful if you have the right remedy or mix of remedies. Homeopathy is not expensive. The remedies are usually less than 10 dollars for weeks worth of pellets and usually homeopaths do a detailed interview process to narrow down what remedy or remedies will help. It doesn't take a battery of tests to figure out a remedy. They may want more information for other things they want to do but it's not necissary for Homeopathy. Sometimes it takes trying several remedies or changing remedies after awhile as symptoms change. If this clinic isn't a good fit I am sure there are other options around you. If you need any advice or help let me know. I hope that your son feels better soon. Also Whole Foods has a huge homeopathy section and you can return anything for a full refund if they don't help.
