Hey All! Happy Holidays. Sorry its's been awhile since I have been on. Just a little bit of an update. I was in the hospital almost 2 wks ago. My headaches and neck apin got worse. My Neurologist sent me to the hospital for almost a week. I found out I have a kink in my brain stem. They cant do anymore surgeries. Now they want to refer me out to for a 2nd medical opinion only. I live in florida. I am trying to get into either Shands, Mayo Clinic or USF. I am not sure what to do. I am fustrated, upset, Then they talk about possible disability for me. I went back to work this week part time and it almost killed me. I just done know what to do. Any advice woukd be great. Thank You
I am in seminole, fl, about 2 hours from Orlando. I went to my pcp yesterday and he wrote me a script for perm disability and gave me info on an attorney, mentioned nothing about a 2nd opinion. He was so gun ho about me not going on disability when I was in the hospital and now his attitude had completey changed. It was almost like he had given up on me.

Disability is scary, and if that is in the cards they still have to manage your symptoms and get you relief. If you have not been anywhere for a second opinion, then let the second opinion start!
