I am scheduled for decompression surgery tomorrow, I was wondering how long after surgery do I have to wait to have intercourse? Saturday is my 1 year anniversary. I was just wondering if it was 2,4 or 6 weeks.

My surgeon told me that I could have relations when I felt up to it..he did not put a time frame on it. To be honest with you, I cannot remember how long we waited...If I had to guess...I would say it was probably about 1 mth post op.

There isn't a set time period, it's just as tolerated. Try not to push yourself though. It's been almost a month for me and that's not something I've felt up to yet, mostly because I'm more tired than usual.
