Hi everyone! My husband is trying to get transferred to Hawaii so that I can have a better quality of life. We live in the Pacific Northwest and the constant low pressure weather systems are wreaking havoc on me! It looks like the barometric pressure is very stable in Hawaii and I know from visiting Arizona that the sun makes me feel better so......I am reaching out to see if anyone on here actually lives in Hawaii or has noticed a big improvement on their symptoms while visiting there. I know this is not a cure but I'm desperate for some relief.

We also have a possibility of moving to San Antonio but I'm not sure how the humidity would affect me??? Anyone live in South Texas?? How do you feel there?

Thank you so much in advance for any advice you can give. Thinking about you all today and hoping you feel good today!!

Susan~

Hi Susan,

I've spent a great deal of time in Hawaii, and have noticed that I hardly get migraines when I 'm there, and also don't get pressure type headaches. I'm going to visit again in a few weeks and I'm going to pay specific attention this time to all my symptoms. I'd love to make the move there myself, but after years of searching for and getting the right doctors, I don't know if I'm willing to go through the process of finding new ones.

Hi Susan.

My wife and I moved from Seattle to San Diego. She swears by it as the single greatest relief (outside of surgery, July 2011).

I go to Mexico an hour south of Cancun in Feb- March & April most years and I definitely feel a lot better. It's warm without humidity and the barometer stays more level than Virginia in early Spring. I would love to find somewhere like that year around. Maybe we could start a Chiari Colony somewhere. Please let me know what you find out.

I have lived in Texas a good part of my life (north and south) I lived in Houston and I would get headaches on the days when it was hot and humid, because when it is 95 degrees and the humidity is 90% it feels like your in a sauna and can't breathe. I would get my errands done early in the day before the heat got bad. I guess everyone is different but for me it would get rough at times. I love Texas though, so I will put up with it :)

I live in Texas. Humid. That's why I'm up at 1:30 a.m. enjoying the cool.

Just a follow up Susan. I got back from Hawaii just a few weeks ago. I did get some headaches, and was wondering if maybe I had been wrong about not getting headaches when I stated I was ususally better in Hawaii. However, what I've realized since I've been back is that I didn't get the "fullness " and sinus type pressure headaches in Hawaii that I have now that I'm back home. I'll take the Hawaii headaches over what I feel now anyday.

Thank you so much for the follow up Elizabeth!! The job didn't work out for Hawaii but we are going to try and go once a year for a vacation so I can enjoy the warmth. I know exactly what you mean about still getting headaches but not having the extreme pressure. That's how it is when I visit Boise Idaho where my kids live. Trying to get there now. I hope you have a good day! Take care :)

Thank you for the input Jeff :) We are looking into San Diego as a possible place to move. I hope your wife is doing well! God Bless you both!
