What are peoples thoughts about using an inversion table when you have Chiari?
Was wondering if the cerebellar tonsils are saging down, why wouldn't using an inversion tables gravity help to put them back in to the skull?

Because it's super complicated haha. I actually have one and found it to be quite nice, a bit harsh on my ankles...but I haven't touched it since I started having panic attacks and MRI's cuz I'm content with things right now and don't want to risk anything stupid. Seriously though, there would have to be a study done on this to give you a real answer and even then it really depends on each person's unique "case." Chiari and related disorders can be caused by so many different things and there are variations on each one of those things. With an inversion table you are talking about variables like gravity and it's effects on fluid, fluid-flow, stretching the spine, stretching muscles and connective tissue, shifting internal organs like the brain, blablabla... I mean it can be very dangerous... but on the other hand I can tell you I got a lot of relief from it and people have been hanging upside down forever. Just be freakin careful!!! like really freakin careful ok <3
The reason the tonsils decend is because we don't have enough room in our skull. If we used an inversion table (which I have one , but can't use anymore because of neck problems) it wouldn't change the size of our skulls.......Just a thought. I will be interested to see what others think.
Interesting Question !!!

True, but it seems like it would give some relief of pressure in the head and maybe let CSF through, just some thoughts, something to think about.
Just curious, did doctor say you can not use it anymore or are you just going by what you feel & know?

I had to have a rebuilt cervical spine with my Decompression & Crainectomy surgeries. My CM diagnosis came too late. I almost became a quadripledgic. My CSF was only getting 2% to my brain & my Cerebellum was literally pushing my verterbrae out of my spinal cord. I was told not to use my inversion table, or dive in a pool (I swam and dove competitively & used to be a lifeguard) or scuba dive & to be real careful about high altitudes & never to get a spine adjustment from a Chiropractor or Osteopath or ride amusement park rides. I am really lucky though I don't have any fused verterbrae .....Just one discectomy on C-5.
