I was hospitalized for dangerously high blood sugar and diagnosed with diabetes. It is too early to say if it is type 1 or 2. I am very healthy(or thought I was). I always watch what I eat and I am a runner. But I now require insulin. I am 33 which everyone said is not typical for type 1, but I don’t fit the type 2 either. This has all been very overwhelming and confusing. No one in the hospital really knew anything about Chiari. The endocrinologist did not think the two were related. Has anyone else been diagnosed after surgery?
