My sis had an appointment with her neurologist because she has miagraines. She told him what was going on with me because she was worried about this disorder being genetic. He basically told her that I was a hypochondriac and that Chiari would not cause symptoms such as dizziness, speech issues, being disoriented etc. I'm not even his patient. I am glad he can diagnose me without even seeing me.
I am no expert but have done a lot of reading and many Doctors who are not specialists are very ignorant to ACM as a whole. My own pcp didn’t know anything about ACM, he refered me to a local NS that does not specialize either so I asked to go to a specific NS who specializes in ACM. It amazes me that any Doctor knowing how the human brain works would ever question any symptoms even strange ones Chiarians have. Because of the lack of research even specialized ACM doctors don’t know the extent of this disease on the human brain and body!
Is there any chance she can see a NS in your area who at least specializes in ACM?
I think i would have went hunting for a dr at that point, sounds like you are nicer than I am. Seems my temper flairs easily anymore lol.
We seem to be put on the backburner enough cause of everything, no doctor should be saying that.

No kidding. What gets me is he decided to give a "shitty answer" to your sister when he obviously is clueless himself. I hate dr's that totally ignore what is going on and it makes it worse when he never even seen you before.
