My surgery went well. I had a little post op fever and nausea that lasted for several weeks. I still get occasional headaches but they aren't as severe and don't last too long. I started back to work yesterday and I am still nervous that this isn't going to last. I know I have to be positive but it is hard sometimes. I can definitely tell I haven't done a lot in the last couple of months, I am wore out LOL.

Im so glad your symptoms are improved! I became very quickly aware of just how little I had been doing until I went back to work too. On day three I had someone relieve me at work because I was too exhausted. I went home a couple of other times as well within the first month back.

What are you afraid of not lasting? Being back at work or improvement of your symptoms?

Thank you both. jcdemar, I am afraid that the symptoms will start to creep back on me. I was to the point of barely walking a month before my surgery (my legs and feet started acting up over night, it was scary) and I get around great now. I DID NOT want to come back to work, I love being at home and feel a lot better when I am but financially I need to work.

Not sure what your situation is... but careful to not burn yourself out slowing down your recovery. Modified work schedule (like 1/2 time) might be a good idea.

Yes, be open to going home if your wiped out. I don’t know what your job is but just the act getting to work and being socially professional can be exhausting, even if you sit in a chair all day. As for the fear… It’s a valid fear BUT let’s not cross a road unless we need to. So many people go on to lead a life of improved or resolved symptoms and happiness. I am 6 months out and am in a good place right now, but at the 4 month mark I got a horrible headache and panicked. It’s hard for me to grasp that we can still be changing and healing up and outwards of a year. You have really been through a lot, you had some pretty horrible symptoms, I’m so glad you are getting relief from that.

My employer is great, he is alright with me going home if I feel the need. I sit and stare at a computer all day and answer phones, its not hard but stressing.

I went back at 8 weeks myself and the first month or so was a little rough. I got tired so easily. Slowly but surely it kept getting easier! Hang in there! I'm glad your boss is understanding! :)

I too get scared my symptoms will come back. Sometimes I will have a random issue but so far so good. I'm almost a year post-op and I have no regrets!
